“But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers.”
1 Peter 4:7

God answers all prayers with either a no, yes or not yet. Prayer to me this past year has simply just been a conversation. Whether it be talking to Him while driving to work/school or before I go to sleep. Being here and praying before meals, before classes, before going on outreaches and before bed with my whole class became mundane for me at one point. I felt as if I was going through the motions of prayer and just doing it because I had to. I wasn’t taking it seriously and I was lacking in my faith for God to move. When we went to Xela and Pana for our week mission trip I truly prayed with faith and saw those prayers being answered. It was amazing seeing God move. Ever since, I chose to be strong in my faith when I pray because I know He hears me and I know He can do things I could never do. Prayer is essential. Before coming I would go days with out talking to God, and now I never want to go back to doing that. I have seen prayers being answered that I prayed years ago, things I thought God would have forgotten about by now. He hears every single prayer I have ever prayed and answers them in His perfect timing. My application is to pray boldly for healing and for the unsaved family members in my life.

Tozer it says that, “God gives, but does not give away.” That hit me because I thought of how many times I’ve gotten puffed up by the strength He has given me in areas and then got pushed back down and humbled. July 27, 2017 “See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.  Ephesians 5:15-17 Bringing glory to God is what we should accomplish each day. Are days are wasted when we spend them on ourselves and our own needs. We are here to seek in God’s will and it may be hard to understand sometimes, but we need to continue striving after what God has for us. I tend to get so caught up here at IGNITE fulfilling my own needs that I feel will bring me closer to God. Thinking that my personal growth can come before me reaching out to others needs. Discovering that it only makes me feel weaker than before. God has already prepared us to do what He is calling us to do, all we need to do is trust in Him. Field Time Week 9

“Let us search out and examine our ways, And turn back to the Lord; Let us lift our hearts and hands to God in Heaven. We have transgressed and rebelled; You have not pardoned.”  Lamentations 3:40-42 It’s so easy to lose sight on our own hearts when we are too busy looking at everyone else’s. So easy to judge people’s hearts by their actions, but where’s my heart in that? I never deserved the right to do that nor will I ever. So many times when I do it shows how wicked my own heart is. Heart checks need to be an everyday thing. Letting God search my heart and revealing to me how dirty it is can be rough, but it can also be a beautiful thing. It is beautiful because He doesn’t want me to stay there. He knows my heart and He knows my desire is to love and honor Him so when He does reveal the wickedness in my heart I know that He is listening.
