And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called. Then they called the blind man, saying to him, “Be of good cheer. Rise, He is calling you.”

God is always near, even when we can’t see Him. Seeing God work in our lives can sometimes seem impossible, but it turns out we are the ones drifting from Him. I have found myself in that position too many times. Always asking, “God where are you?” or “God do something!” never realizing that he was just patiently waiting for me to fully trust in Him and teaching me His patience in the process. Being too blind to see that God was working in my life that entire time. My God is very patient with me. So patient that He let me run away from IGNITE for an entire year. The world can blind your biblical view so much to where God’s will doesn’t even look like an option anymore. We can feel like we are in God’s will when we feel content and happy with life, but God doesn’t want us to be happy. God wants us to be filled with joy. He doesn’t want us to live a normal comfy life. He wants to give us a radical life full of joy, peace and freedom. That doesn’t mean there will be struggles along the way. I have found out that we can choose our sin, but we can’t choose the consequences. I was living a life full of lies and constantly wearing a mask everywhere I went. Coming to IGNITE was a HUGE reality check. Knowing that God still loved me, but He did need to teach me a lot in the process. His grace has been a down pour in my life like never before. Concluding that you can run as long as you want from God, but He will always put you exactly where you need to be. My application is to share with Reagan tonight about my ups and downs I have had this week.

His strength didn’t come from the feedback He received or how many people He healed. His strength came from God. We are weak, but in Him we are strong. In the book, Knowledge of the Holy , by A.W. Tozer it says that, “God gives, but does not give away.” That hit me because I thought of how many times I’ve gotten puffed up by the strength He has given me in areas and then got pushed back down and humbled. July 27, 2017 “See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.  Ephesians 5:15-17 Bringing glory to God is what we should accomplish each day. Are days are wasted when we spend them on ourselves and our own needs. We are here to seek in God’s will and it may be hard to understand sometimes, but we need to continue striving after what God has for us. I tend to get so caught up here at IGNITE fulfilling my own needs that I feel will bring me closer to God. Thinking that my personal growth can come before me reaching out to others needs. Discovering that it only makes me feel weaker than before. God has already prepared us to do what He is calling us to do, all we need to do is trust in Him. I need to let go of my image and let God show me who I am in Him. In 1 Corinthians 10:31 it says, “Whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God...

Field Time Week 9

“Let us search out and examine our ways, And turn back to the Lord; Let us lift our hearts and hands to God in Heaven. We have transgressed and rebelled; You have not pardoned.”  Lamentations 3:40-42 It’s so easy to lose sight on our own hearts when we are too busy looking at everyone else’s. So easy to judge people’s hearts by their actions, but where’s my heart in that? I never deserved the right to do that nor will I ever. So many times when I do it shows how wicked my own heart is. Heart checks need to be an everyday thing. Letting God search my heart and revealing to me how dirty it is can be rough, but it can also be a beautiful thing. It is beautiful because He doesn’t want me to stay there. He knows my heart and He knows my desire is to love and honor Him so when He does reveal the wickedness in my heart I know that He is listening.
