Field Time Week 9

“Let us search out and examine our ways, And turn back to the Lord; Let us lift our hearts and hands to God in Heaven. We have transgressed and rebelled; You have not pardoned.” 
Lamentations 3:40-42

It’s so easy to lose sight on our own hearts when we are too busy looking at everyone else’s. So easy to judge people’s hearts by their actions, but where’s my heart in that? I never deserved the right to do that nor will I ever. So many times when I do it shows how wicked my own heart is. Heart checks need to be an everyday thing. Letting God search my heart and revealing to me how dirty it is can be rough, but it can also be a beautiful thing. It is beautiful because He doesn’t want me to stay there. He knows my heart and He knows my desire is to love and honor Him so when He does reveal the wickedness in my heart I know that He is listening. I’ve turned my back on the life I lived when I was home and God has taken away those temptations when He brought me here. It’s only human to find new sin to get caught up in, but it doesn’t make it right. Everyday is a new day to lift our hearts and hands to Him and surrender our lives so He can do the work. I need to stop using my hands and trying to control my life because it gets me no where. My rebellious ways and my transgressions have brought me to dark places, but how amazing is it that God uses those things to bring us back to Him. His will will be accomplished with or with out me, whether I obey or not, but when I submit to His plans His blessings are so much greater when I sell out to Him.

Tozer it says that, “God gives, but does not give away.” That hit me because I thought of how many times I’ve gotten puffed up by the strength He has given me in areas and then got pushed back down and humbled. July 27, 2017 “See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.  Ephesians 5:15-17 Bringing glory to God is what we should accomplish each day. Are days are wasted when we spend them on ourselves and our own needs. We are here to seek in God’s will and it may be hard to understand sometimes, but we need to continue striving after what God has for us. I tend to get so caught up here at IGNITE fulfilling my own needs that I feel will bring me closer to God. Thinking that my personal growth can come before me reaching out to others needs. Discovering that it only makes me feel weaker than before. God has already prepared us to do what He is calling us to do, all we need to do is trust in Him.
