Now it happened, on a certain day, that He got into a boat with His disciples. And He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side of the lake.” And they launched out. But as they sailed He fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on the lake, and they were filling with water, and were in jeopardy. And they came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” Then He arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water. And they ceased, and there was a calm. But He said to them, “Where is your faith?” And they were afraid, and marveled, saying to one another, “Who can this be? For He commands even the winds and water, and they obey Him!”
Luke 8:22-25
“Wait God don’t do that.” I tend to say that sentence way too often when God tries to do something with my life. In the past year I have told God that I want to hear Him more and to draw closer to Him, but whenever He would take certain friends out of my life or when my plans would fail I would be so confused and almost angry. I felt like God was not working in my life what so ever. As time would go on I realized that those plans and those friends were not the right ones. God will put us through storms, but He doesn’t leave us in them. One of my bible college teachers would always say, “God is rarely early, but is never late,” and that really stuck with me. God’s timing is perfect even when we feel like we know when things should happen. In 1 Corinthians 10:13 it says that, “God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able.” That verse gives me peace knowing that God will get me through any situation when I put my trust in Him. My application is whenever I feel like my faith is lacking or I just feel off I will talk to my RA.
