Field Time Week 22

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”
                                         John 8:36 

My time in Guatemala has consisted of one word: freedom. A freedom I have never felt before. Knowing that there was a God in heaven that loved me, but for the first time in my life experiencing that love in my heart and everyday life. Coming into ignite I had so many secret sins that I was enslaved to that I didn't realize. God broke into my heart and my life has never been the same. Stripping everything I had from me and starting over with a fresh desire for Him alone. It hurt, but it was what I needed. Humbling, equipping, and steadying my heart to do His will. Finally seeing Him as my strength, my healer, my redeemer and my Father. I am free indeed. And as I walk in this freedom I will give everything I have to Him. Loving Him with all my heart and surrendering all that I am for the rest of my life.

Romans 15:1

August 24,2017 “When then who are strong ought to bear with the scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves.” Romans 15:1 Jesus did not come down to please Himself. His strength didn’t come from the feedback He received or how many people He healed. His strength came from God. We are weak, but in Him we are strong. In the book, Knowledge of the Holy , by A.W. Tozer it says that, “God gives, but does not give away.” That hit me because I thought of how many times I’ve gotten puffed up by the strength He has given me in areas and then got pushed back down and humbled. I can’t do anything with out Him so instead of using the strength that He gives me and use it for my own desires, I need to use that strength to build up those around me. Jesus did not come down to show us how strong He is, but to become weak with us and to show us God’s love. July 27, 2017 “See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.  Ephesians 5:15-17 Bringing glory to God is what we should accomplish each day. Are days are wasted when we spend them on ourselves and our own needs. We are here to seek in God’s will and it may be hard to understand sometimes, but we need to continue striving after what God has for us. I tend to get so caught up here at IGNITE fulfilling my own needs that I feel will bring me closer to God. Thinking that my personal growth can come before me reaching out to others needs. Discovering that it only makes me feel weaker than before. God has already prepared us to do what He is calling us to do, all we need to do is trust in Him. I need to let go of my image and let God show me who I am in Him. In 1 Corinthians 10:31 it says, “Whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God.” I
