Field Time Week 23

1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Communal living can be tough and tiring. Sharing a house with 18 people can even get overwhelming at times, but it has been so good. I have never been as close with the 18 people that I have only known for around 9 months. By this time we all know each others likes and dislikes and we defiantly know what buttons not to push. These verses are a good reminder for the home. Ministry starts in the home and if we can’t abide to what love says here our home will fall apart. Seeking the Lord daily is a must and treating each other with love is what has got us through these last 9 months. We about a week and a half left it is easier to distant myself from the people I am living with. It is easy to tell myself that I won’t have this forever so I begin to wind down, but that isn’t what the Lord is calling me to do. He is calling me to finish strong and make my relationships in this house better than they were the day before. Living in Guatemala I have had so much freedom from the rest of the world not being consumed in it and it has allowed me to grow my relationship with the Lord and those around me. This week I will spend less time alone and more time with my team.

Romans 15:1

August 24,2017 “When then who are strong ought to bear with the scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves.” Romans 15:1 Jesus did not come down to please Himself. His strength didn’t come from the feedback He received or how many people He healed. His strength came from God. We are weak, but in Him we are strong. In the book, Knowledge of the Holy , by A.W. Tozer it says that, “God gives, but does not give away.” That hit me because I thought of how many times I’ve gotten puffed up by the strength He has given me in areas and then got pushed back down and humbled. I can’t do anything with out Him so instead of using the strength that He gives me and use it for my own desires, I need to use that strength to build up those around me. Jesus did not come down to show us how strong He is, but to become weak with us and to show us God’s love. July 27, 2017 “See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.  Ephesians 5:15-17 Bringing glory to God is what we should accomplish each day. Are days are wasted when we spend them on ourselves and our own needs. We are here to seek in God’s will and it may be hard to understand sometimes, but we need to continue striving after what God has for us. I tend to get so caught up here at IGNITE fulfilling my own needs that I feel will bring me closer to God. Thinking that my personal growth can come before me reaching out to others needs. Discovering that it only makes me feel weaker than before. God has already prepared us to do what He is calling us to do, all we need to do is trust in Him. I need to let go of my image and let God show me who I am in Him. In 1 Corinthians 10:31 it says, “Whatever you do, do it all to the glory of God.” I
